Job Title:  Foundation Volunteer 

Purpose: The Foundation Volunteer completes various projects for Library Foundation programs including the Books to You, Ready to Read, and Take 20 and Read Programs.  Through administrative and support tasks the Foundation Volunteer will make sure data entry is up-to-date, program resources are stocked, and community partner receive their materials.

Location: Administrative Office located at 77 Boone Hills Dr. St. Peters, MO 63376.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helps collect information/registration cards for potential volunteers
  • Helps enter information collected into eTapestry for further communications
  • Maintain program materials for Books to You, Ready to Read, and Take 20 and Read programs in General Administration building and, as needed, in branches or partner sites
  • Communicate with other volunteers to assess needs for ordering of material

Reports to: Extension Services Specialist

Length of Appointment: The Foundation Volunteer will serve for at least 6 months and can stay on as a long-term volunteer if requested.

Time Commitment: At least, one day per week (Foundation Volunteer choice) for four hours.


  • Passion for volunteerism and St. Charles County
  • Basic knowledge of working in office environment
  • Basic knowledge of computer and data entry
  • Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Vehicle to travel to outreach/recruiting events

Support: Training/orientation for this position will be provided.  In addition, the Extension Services Specialist will be available for questions and assistance.

Age Requirement: 18 years or older
