The Missouri Building Block Picture Book Award, sponsored and selected by the Youth Services Community of Interest (YSCI), is presented annually to the author and illustrator of the picture book voted most popular by preschool children in Missouri’s public libraries and is designed to encourage reading aloud to children from birth through kindergarten age.
Vote for your favorite Each year, ten picture books are nominated for the Building Block Award. Once your child has read five of the ten nominees, they are eligible to vote for their favorite. You can do so by participating in the Library’s online Reading Challenge, or by filling out this form! Children who vote will be entered to win a copy of one of the nominees! You can find out more about the Building Block Award here. Sign up for the Building Block Challenge online! |
