Half Brother by Kenneth Oppel

13 year old Ben Tomlin was an only child, until his parents brought home a baby chimpanzee.  Ben's parents are scientists, and they want to prove that chimps, which are our closest animal relatives, can use American Sign Language.  They neme him Zan, and soon Ben is Zan's favorite.  I would recommend this to anyone who likes romance, drama, and realistic fiction.  I liked this book because you are always wondering how Ben and Zan are going to get out of their unique situations.  You are also on the edge of your seat.  You can relate to Ben because he worries about Zan, like a brother, moving, and fights with your parents.
